Tensions between India and Pakistan have been rising following the recent terror attacks in Pahalgam, and the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is closely monitoring the situation, especially with the 2025 Indian Premier League (IPL) still ongoing in the subcontinent. In a recent development, the IPL match between Punjab Kings (PBKS) and Delhi Capitals (DC), scheduled for Dharamsala, was abandoned due to significant reasons.

While IPL authorities initially cited a technical glitch, some reports suggest that the match was called off due to rising tensions in northern India. Spectators were reportedly evacuated from the venue, and air raid alerts were issued in nearby cities like Jammu and Pathankot, contributing to the decision.

Regarding the upcoming match between Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), IPL Chairman Arun Dhumal said, “Yes, it’s on as of now, but the situation is evolving. Any decision will be made with the best interests of all stakeholders in mind.” Both teams have already arrived in Lucknow for the clash. Meanwhile, PBKS and DC are being transported to Delhi via a special train after their match was abandoned.

The BCCI is continuing to assess the situation, and no official directives have been received from the government yet. The decision on future matches will be based on the evolving circumstances.
