County Championship 2025 – First-class cricket in England and Wales — better known as County Cricket — runs every year from April to September, split into two phases.
The first phase kicks off in early April and goes on until the first week of July. After that, the focus shifts to domestic white-ball tournaments. The red-ball action picks back up in the third week of August and wraps up by the end of September.
As for the format, 18 teams are split into two divisions. Division One has 10 teams, while Division Two has 8. At the end of the season, the bottom two teams from Division One get relegated to Division Two, and the top two teams from Division Two earn promotion to the top tier.
